Jute Polk

Memorial services were held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Prentiss Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Jute Polk, age 68, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on April 3, 2013 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Rev. Ben James officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. James Jute Polk was born on January 12, 1945 in Prentiss, MS. He was the son of James Vardaman Polk and Lois Bass Polk. After high school, he attended Pearl River Community College for 2 years. For the next twenty five years, he worked as a surveyor. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Prentiss Baptist Church. Mr. Polk is survived by his sisters, Nell Ledet of Kilgore, TX and Shirley Williamson of Kingswood, TX; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
