Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek, MS for Mr. James Earl May, age 87, of Silver Creek who passed away on March 28, 2013 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Interment followed at New Hebron Cemetery. Rev. Trey Spangler officiated. Pallbearers were Jerry Cox, E. J. Cox, Scott Fuller, Kevin Fuller and Stephen Gutshell. A native of New Hebron, James Earl May was born on February 10, 1926. He was the son of Oscar Robert May and Gladys Mae Sutton May. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a salesman for several years and enjoyed being a full time farmer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. May is survived by his wife, Maurine Barber May of Silver Creek; his son, Albert May (Diane) of Silver Creek; his daughters, Sybil Cox (Joe) of Prairieville, LA and Glenda Fuller of Birmingham, AL; his nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and his sister, Allene Holloway of Monticello, MS.
