Marie Herrington

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Carson Baptist Church in Carson, MS for Mrs. Marie Herrington, age 91, of Carson, MS who passed away on March 11, 2013 at JDC Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Carson Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Benji Sessums, Rev. Ken Roberts and Mr. John Wayne Tolar officiated. Pall bearers were Brad Herrington, Scott Bass, Kallum Herrington, Joey Herrington, Kyle Herrington, Lee Herrington and Brian Bass. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Hilda Marie Herrington was born on October 10, 1921. She was the daughter of Buford Larkin Dyess and Lula Mae Johnson Dyess. She worked as a seamstress for Edward Hyman Manufacturing. Along with her husband, Curtis Herrington Sr., they owned and operated Herrington Grocery in Carson and Herrington Mercantile in Prentiss. She was a member of Carson Baptist church. Mrs. Herrington is survived by her daughter, Joan Bass of Bassfield, MS; her sons, Curtis Herrington Jr. of Delhi, LA, Alton Herrington, David Herrington and Maurice Herrington all of Carson, MS; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Flora Barnett of Pineville, LA.
