Curtis Wayne Sanders

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Oakvale Baptist Church in Oakvale, MS for Mr. Wayne Sanders, age 63 of Oakvale, who passed away on February 19 at his residence. Interment followed at Oakvale Baptist Church Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Eddie Myers and Rev. Dudley Williamson officiated. Pall bearers were Gene Sanders Jr., Nathan Sanders, Darrell Sanders, William Leonard, Chet Myers, Brad Martin and Jody Martin. Mr. Curtis Wayne Sanders was born on October 24, 1949 in Columbia, MS. He was the son of D. W. Sanders and Gladys Ready Sanders. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and had worked offshore as a Crain Operator. He also enjoyed doing taxidermy work. He was a member of Oakvale Baptist Church. Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Jan Sanders of Oakvale, MS; his son, Waygon Sanders of Brookhaven, MS; his daughter, Tara McCormick of Wesson, MS; one grandchild; his brother, James Sanders of Silver Creek, MS, Donald Sanders of Brookhaven, MS and David Sanders of Columbia, MS; and his sisters, Linda Daniels and Susan Leonard both of Monticello, MS.
