Funeral services were held Monday, January 7, 2013 at Sautlers Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Jimmy T. Polk, age 77, who passed away January 3, 2012 at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Sessions Polk officiated. Pall bearers were Aubrey King, David Michael, Neal Woods, Kayron Berry, John Wayne Blough Jr. and Dalton Polk. Honorary pall bearers were Tom Nelson, Jerry Cole, Dee Estes, Harold Stamps and Members of the Senior Class of 1954 at Carson. A native of Prentiss, Jimmy Terrell Polk was born on June 15, 1935. He was the son of Terrell Polk and Audrey Wolfe Polk. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. Mr. Polk worked for B. C. Clark and Quick Gas Company driving a gas truck for more than 35 years. He then worked for the Town of Prentiss before retiring, at the age of 65. He was a member of Prentiss United Methodist Church. Mr. Polk is survived by his daughter, Pamela Sue Polk of Brandon, MS; his son, David Polk (Cristy) of Gatesville, TX; his grandchildren, Makaylee Mueller and Dalton Polk; and his sister, Joyce Brinson of Hattiesburg, MS.
