Dr. Joyce Anderson Martin, 77, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, formerly of Bassfield, Mississippi passed away December 26, 2012. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, near Lenoir City. She retired from the Virginia Tech Cooperative Extension after 45 years of service as a 4-H Extension Agent, 4-H volunteer and community leader. Dr. Martin was a professor and/or instructor at Pearl River Junior College, Mississippi State University, Mississippi State College for Women and Virginia Tech. Her professional training was Home Economics Education. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hulon and Annie Maude Anderson of Bassfield, Mississippi and grand daughter, Elizabeth Kay Martin. She is survived by her husband, Kennith Martin; son, Donald Martin and wife Lisa; daughter, Linda Paschal and husband Wayne; son, Dr. Daniel Martin and wife Laurie; son, Dr. Michael Martin and wife Billie Sue; grandchildren Christopher Paschal and wife Bridget; Katie Paschal; Keith Paschal; Zachary Martin and wife Brittney; Kelly Price and husband Chris; Erin Martin; Catherine, John, and Joshua Martin; Christa and Rachel Martin; great grandchildren Heidi and Seth Paschal; step-grandchildren Thomas and Joshua Lane; eight brothers, Kelton, John, Kermit, Eugene, Herschel, Cecil, David, and Danny Anderson. Funeral services were held at Saulters-Moore Funeral Chapel, Prentiss, Mississippi on Friday, December 27, 2012, with Robert “Bob” Burge officiating. Interment followed at the Anderson/Sullivan Family Cemetery in Bethel Cemetery, Bassfield, MS. Pallbearers were Chris Paschal, Keith Paschal, Zachary Martin, John Martin, Joshua Martin, Chris Price, Joshua Lane, Wayne Collins, and Ric Anderson.
