Louie Dell Polk

Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at New Chapel Pentecostal Church Cemetery for Mrs. Louie Dell Polk, age 82, of Prentiss, MS who passed away at the Jeff Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss on December 23, 2012. Bro. Albert Reid and Bro. Ken Hickman officiated. Nathan Thurman, Andy Polk, Douglas Freeman, Ray Miller, Randy Polk, and Anthony Polk served as Pallbearers. Louie Dell Polk was born in Wayne County, MS on September 5, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester Knight and Ruthie Ainsworth Knight. For many years she worked as a seamstress at the garment factory in Bassfield and at KLH in Prentiss. She also worked with her husband at Benny Polk’s Grocery Store on Hwy. 35. She was a member of New Chapel Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Polk is survived by her husband, Benny Polk of Prentiss, MS; one daughter, Sandi Burnett of Carbondale, Illinois; three sons: John R. Polk , Benny Richard Polk, and Dale Polk all of Prentiss, MS; two sisters: Jessie Mae King of Prentiss, MS and Opal Burnett of Oak Grove, MS; 4 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
