Fredna Mae Laird

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Fredna Mae Laird, age 96, of Bassfield who passed away December 6, 2012. Interment followed at Bethel Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Joseph Bains officiated. Pall bearers were Tommy Castle, Fred Castle, David Castle, Brandon Laird, Darren Laird, Ronnie Terrell and Butch Terrell. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Fredna Mae Shivers Laird was born on March 10, 1916. She was the daughter of Porter Shivers and Emma Bass Shivers. She worked as a Dietician with the JDC Hospital for twenty years before retiring. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Laird is survived by her son, Jackie Laird (Nancy) of Biloxi, MS; her daughters, Carolene Castle (Tom) of Guntown, MS and Laurice Terrell (John) of Zachary, LA; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, Harvey Laird, two grandsons, Mike Terrell and David Terrell, two brothers and four sisters.
