Mildred May Boyd

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Monticello Baptist Church in Monticello, MS for Mrs. Mildred May Boyd, age 88, of Monticello, MS who passed away December 5, 2012 at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Interment followed at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tim McCaffrey, Rev. Sonny Adkins and Rev. Jimmy McGee officiated. Pall bearers were John Holloway, Daniel Holloway, Albert May, Jerry Cox, Mike Davis, Loren Monk and Keith May. Honorary pall bearers were members of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. A native of Lawrence County, Bertha Mildred May Boyd was born on November 29, 1924. She was the daughter of Oscar Robert May and Gladys Sutton May. She worked as a Bookkeeper for several auto dealerships in the area. She was a member of Monticello Baptist Church. Mrs. Boyd is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Cothern of Bogalusa, LA; her sister, Allene Holloway of Monticello, MS; and her brother, James May of Silver Creek, MS.
