Billy "Joe" Polk

Funeral services were held Friday, December 07, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Billy C. “Joe” Polk, age 77, of Ovett, MS who passed away December 4, 2012 at his residence. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Jimmy McGee officiated. Pall bearers were Gary Rhodes, Jason Johnson, Christopher Pitts, Paul Johnson, Joe Tartavoille, Jamie Graham and Gene Cosper. Billy Charles “Joe” Polk was born on May 5, 1935 in Prentiss, MS. He was the son of Andrew Houston Polk and Shep Holyfield Polk. After graduation from Prentiss High School, he drove a truck for Boots Smith. He drove a truck for many years in the oilfield industry before retiring. Mr. Polk is survived by his wife, Glenda Gail Polk of Ovett, MS; his stepson, Jason Johnson of Laurel, MS; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Thornton of Laurel, MS; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
