Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Dublin Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Thomas Willard Kirkley, age 72, of Carson, MS who passed away on October 21, 2012 at JDC Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Dublin Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Mike Mitchell, Rev. Robert Sones and Rev. Jay Westbrook officiated. Pall bearers were Richard Leuer, Jerry Barrett, Bud McNease, Preston Williams, Ricky Barrett, James Williams, Preston Breland and R. T. McPhail. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Thomas Willard Kirkley was born on May 25, 1940. He was the son of Thomas Dillard Kirkley and Vada Bedwell Kirkley. He worked as a Journeyman Pipefitter in the Construction Business for forty five years and was a member of the Local 714 Union. He was also a painter and worked on Tugboats for several years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Kirkley is survived by his wife, Carol Kirkley of Carson; his son, Thomas “Hoss” Kirkley of Carson, MS; his daughters, Angela Carpenter of Wade, MS and Elizabeth “Liz” Polk of Collins, MS; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
