Aubrey Boleware

Funeral services were held Monday, October 8, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Aubrey Boleware, age 83, of Prentiss who passed away on October 5, 2012 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Bobby Brewer and Rev. Charles L. Loftin officiated. Pall bearers were David Boleware, Corky Holliman, Danny Sinclair, John Paul Saulter, Marvin Preslar, Cecil Anderson and Wayne McAllister. Honorary pall bearers were Chip Williamson, Tommy McNease, Thomas Holloway, Rodney Thomas, Harold Winstead, Clyde Thurman, Jim Boleware, Reggie Lott, Tom Watts and Ben Watts. A native of Jefferson Davis County, James Aubrey Boleware was born on November 16, 1928. He was the son of Galloway Boleware and Annette Broome Boleware. Mr. Boleware worked in various positions for V. B. and Thomas Victor Garraway in the 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s, including Garraway Hardware, Grocery and Dept. Store. He was best known as the Manager of the theater and was the prop man for the film “Jesse James’ Women” which was filmed in Silver Creek, MS. He later worked as a Manager and Buyer of shoe’s in various stores in the area, including Poole’s in Columbia, Lampton’s in Columbia, Waldolf’s in Hattiesburg, Fine’s Brothers in Madison, Hattiesburg & Laurel, and Watts Dept. Store in Columbia. He retired as President of The Lampton Company in 1989. Mr. Boleware was also active in various organizations and civic clubs. He was a member of the AQHA and the Mississippi QHA, the Quarter Horse Council, a former member of the Chamber of Commerce in Columbia, and Jr. Chamber of Commerce in Laurel and was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a deacon and member of Carson United Methodist Church. Mr. Boleware is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Juanita Boleware of Prentiss; his son, James Pruitt Boleware (Diane) of Bassfield; his daughter, Marilyn Preslar (Marvin) of Owasso, OK; three granddaughters, Amanda Preslar, Casey Urvin and Shelby Paige; and one great granddaughter, Annabelle Paige; and his sister, Marjorie Pittman of Purvis, MS.
