Arthur Dale Broome

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Santee Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Arthur Dale Broome, age 64, of Bassfield, MS who passed away on September 11, 2012 at the Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Graves Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tony Bagley and Rev. Julius Davis officiated. Pall bearers were Sean Morris, Avery Broome, Latrell Smith, Harlon Broome Jr., Ryan Walker, Jerome Pickett and David Fuller. A native of Mississippi, Arthur Dale Broome was born on September 25, 1947. He was the son of Arthur Broome and Minnie Jane Graves Broome. He was a Boat Foreman with Ingalls Shipyard and retired after thirty three years. He was a member of Santee Baptist Church. Mr. Broome is survived by his wife, Joyce Broome of Bassfield, MS; his daughters, Valarie Dale Broome of Ocean Springs, MS and Debbie Catt of Big Point, MS; his stepdaughter, Deidra Smith of Laurel, MS; his son, Avery Dwight Broome (Tiffany) of Helena, MS; his stepson, Latrell Smith (Kristi) of Wade, MS; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sisters, Mary Nell Powell of Hattiesburg, MS, Sue Lowery of Petal, MS and Pearl Lowery of Sumrall, MS; and his brother, Harlon Broome of Bassfield, MS.
