Elaine Bridges

Funeral services were held Friday, September 07, 2012 at Whitesand Baptist Church for Mrs. Iris Elaine Bridges, age 82, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on September 5, 2012 at her residence. Interment followed in Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss, MS was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles Burnham officiated. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Tommy Bridges, Chad Bridges, Adam Bass, Billy Smith, Hose Bridges, Ralph Smith, Chris Smith, Joshua Smith, and Trevor Bridges. Elaine Bridges was born on September 13, 1929 in Scott Co. MS. She was the daughter of Cassell and Selma Ramshur Shoemaker. She was a homemaker and a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. Mrs. Bridges is survived by two sons: Gary Bridges (Pattie) and Billy Bridges (Wendy) both of Prentiss, MS; two daughters: Diane Lyons (Eddie) of Lancing, TN and Deloris Smith (Ricky) of Prentiss, MS. ; one sister: Nellie Wilson of Brandon, MS; two brothers: Jimmy Shoemaker of Brandon, MS, and C.H. “Peewee” Shoemaker of Beaumont, TX; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Grady Bridges, one daughter, one grandson, and two brothers.
