Thelma L. Evans

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Thelma Warren Evans, age 95, of Prentiss, MS who passed away August 1, 2012 at JDCH Extended Care Facility in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Olive, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Trent Sullivan and Rev. Joel Eavenson officiated. Pall bearers were her grandsons--Jabo Evans, Buddy Rush, Patrick Rush, Kris Evans, Jonathan Evans and Daniel Evans. Thelma Lee Warren Evans was born in Covington County on September 14, 1916. She was the daughter of Jessie Warren and Elizabeth McClendon Warren. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Evans is survived by her daughter, Norma Rush of Prentiss, MS; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; her brothers, Bob Warren of Magee, MS and Alvin Warren of Mendenhall, MS; and her sisters, Alberta Mullins of Trenton, OH and Geneva Scott of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilson Evans, her son, George Evans, five sisters and four brothers.
