Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Silver Creek for Mr. John Cliburn, age 66, of Silver Creek, MS who passed away June 28, 2012 at his residence. Interment followed at Cliburn Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Chad Carney and Dr. Ron Ballard officiated. Pall bearers were Josh Sykes, Darwin Lea, Keith Cliburn, Wayne Byrd, Billy Harrist, Bobby Cliburn and Mike Daughdrill. A native of Lawrence County, John Olen Cliburn was born on June 21, 1946. He was the son of Ernest Cliburn and Ethel Roberts Cliburn. He worked for many years selling and installing carpet in the Jackson and McComb areas. He was a Deacon at Central Baptist Church in McComb. After moving to Silver Creek, he became a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Cliburn is survived by his wife, Lisa Cliburn of Silver Creek; his sons, Kenneth Cliburn of Monticello, Bubba Cliburn of Tennessee and Bradley Collett of Killeen, TX; his daughters, Tammy Goeble, Diandra Cliburn and Christina Phipps all of Nashville, TN and Sandy Sykes and Carol Welch both of New Hebron; twenty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; his brothers, Robert Glen Cliburn of Brookhaven, MS, Roger Cliburn of Jackson, MS and Solon Cliburn of Eufaula, OK; his sisters, Ernestine Blair and Jamie Cliburn both of Silver Creek, MS.
