H. T. Carter

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. H. T. Carter, age 79, of New Hebron, MS who passed away May 3, 2012 at his residence. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles Burnham officiated. Pall bearers were Bobby Shivers, Matt Pressly, Jay Bass, Larry Chism, Tommy Breeland and Chad Breeland. Larue Mikell served as Honorary Pallbearer. Mr. Hassell Thornton Carter, Jr. was born in West Virginia on September 20, 1932. He was the son of Hassell T. Carter, Sr. and Ruth Saunders Carter. He was an US Army Veteran. He worked in the Offshore Oilfield as a platform operator for twenty one years. He later retired from Georgia Pacific as a security guard. He attended Whitesand Baptist Church. Mr. Carter is survived by his sons, Harry Carter of Prentiss, Bobby Carter of PA, and Frankie Carter of DE; his step-son, Rick Chism of New Hebron; his daughters, Peggy Varrow and Patty Ray both of MD and Rosanna Eurban of DE; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
