Carl Herring

Funeral services were Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Carl Herring Jr., age 82, of Silver Creek, MS who passed away April 24, 2012 at the Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, MS. Interment followed at Silver Creek Methodist Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Wallace Clark, Rev. Malcolm Rester and Rev. Raymond Aven officiated. Pall bearers were Samuel Rester, Billy Ray Jenkins, Greg Edmonds, Harold Schwarzauer, Jonathan Turnage and Doug Martin. Mr. Carl Herring Jr. was born on September 20, 1929 in Mississippi. He was the son of Carl Herring Sr. and Maddy McDonald Herring. He was a Pipe Fitter/Welder and was a contract worker with Georgia Pacific and the Local 198. He was a mason and a member of the Assembly of God church. Mr. Herring is survived by his sons, Scotty Herring of Silver Creek, Richard Herring and Robert Glen Herring both of Wealder, TX; his daughter, Shirley Faye Kirtley of Maumelle, AR; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and his sister, Margie Clark of Batesville, MS.
