Funeral services were held Monday, March 12, 2012 at Victory Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Sadie King Langford, age 92, of Bassfield, MS who went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2012 at Arrington Living Center in Collins, MS. Interment followed at Lowland Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Gerald Aultman, Rev. Charles Broome, Rev. Tommy Arinder and Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Scott Hume, Billy Boles, Jackie Laird, Earl Hathorn, Jimmy Rutland and Willie Jones. Honorary pall bearer was Stephen Scarbrough. Mrs. Sadie Rae King Langford was born on February 19, 1920 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was the daughter of Inman F. Laird and Belle Broome Laird. She worked at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital as a Dietician for 28 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening and loved people. She was an active member of Victory Baptist Church. Mrs. Langford is survived by her son, Dickey King (Sue) of Madison, MS; her daughter, Judy Evans (Kerby) of Bassfield, MS; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, J. A. King and Louis Langford, a brother, a sister and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelical Association or the MS Baptist Children's Village.
