Arvin D. Smith

Funeral services were held Monday, March 2, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Arvin Smith, age 80, of Carson, MS who passed away March 2, 2012 at his residence. Interment followed at Greens Creek Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles L. Loftin officiated. Pall bearers were Terry Dyess, Mike Dyess, Greg Dyess, Frank Floyd, James Tiller, Huey Hitt and Brandon Dyess. Mr. Arvin Daniel Smith was born May 23, 1931 in Delhi, LA. He was the son of Claude Smith and Sarah Dunn Smith. After high school, he enlisted with the US Air Force. He then worked as a crane operator with Ingalls Shipyard for 27 years before retiring. He was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Smith is survived by his sons, Ricky Smith of Vancleave, MS and Rocky Smith of Moss Point, MS; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother, Marvin Smith of Carson, MS; and his sister, Margaret McCrory of Petal, MS.
