Lathell "Rodney" Dyess

Graveside services and interment were held Monday, February 20, 2012 at Greens Creek Cemetery in Carson, MS for Mr. Lathell “Rodney” Dyess, age 71, of Oakvale, MS who passed away February 17, 2012 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles Loftin officiated. Pall bearers were Kirk Raynes, Rex Raynes, Dustin Brewer, Randy Dyess, Greg Dyess, Tabby Smith, Ricky Barrett, Eric Brewer and Mike Dyess. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi, Lathell “Rodney” Dyess was born on April 17, 1940. He was the son of Mac Dyess and Vergie Reid Dyess. He was a farmer and a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Dyess is survived by his wife, Karen Johns Dyess of Oakvale, MS; his daughter Penny Chisolm of Hattiesburg, MS; six grandchildren, Christoper Whitehead, Kayla Whitehead, Christian Chisolm, Ariel Jenkins, Robin Chisolm and Sean Chisolm; one great-grandchild, Leland Jenkins; two sisters, Maxine Smith of Carson, MS and Emma Jean Carson of Columbia, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.
