Shirley A. Nettles

Graveside services were held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Lonestar Cemetery in Collins, MS for Mrs. Shirley A. Nettles, age 74, of Collins, MS who passed away February 15, 2012 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Davis officiated. Pall bearers were Jackie Bass, Mark Daley, James Jordan, Ron Polk, Nelson Cubley and Jim Holmes. Mrs. Shirley Ann Nettles was born on November 11, 1937 in Hazlehurst, MS. She was the daughter of George Phillips and Dovie Williams Phillips. She worked as the Administrator of the ER department for University Medical Center in Jackson, MS for more than twenty seven years before retiring. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church of Hazlehurst. Mrs. Nettles is survived by her husband, R. V. Nettles of Collins, MS; her daughters, Sheree Shepard and Lisa Nettles both of Kansas City, MO; her son, Roger Nettles, Jr. of Collins, MS; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, George Phillips of Brandon, MS and Gerald Phillips of Hazlehurst, MS; and her sister, Reba Plante of Little Rock, AR.
