Betty R. Odum

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Betty R. Odum, age 77, who passed away February 4, 2012 in Hattiesburg, MS. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. John Matthews officiated. Pall bearers were Charles David Odum, Charles D. Stafford, Sr., Charles D. Stafford Jr., Charles Garrett Odum, Christopher W. Odum and David R. Nobles, Jr. Mrs. Betty Ruth Odum was born on November 25, 1934 in Morgantown, MS. She was the daughter of Howard Raybon and Dovie Dunaway Raybon. She attended USM and graduated with a degree in Music. She taught in the public school system for more than thirty years before retiring. She was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Odum is survived by her son, Gary Odum Jr. of Hattiesburg, MS; her daughters, Susan Odum-Berry of Prentiss, MS and Margaret “Meg” Nobles of Austin, TX; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
