Funeral services were held Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Janice J. Polk, age 72, who passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at the MS Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Mr. John Wayne Blough Jr. and Rev. Session Polk officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Mrs. Janice June Jolly Polk was born on June 10, 1939 in Hattiesburg, MS. She was the daughter of Clarence Jolly, Sr. and Jauineese McNease Jolly. She worked as a Church Custodian for Prentiss Baptist Church for several years. She was a member of Prentiss United Methodist Church. Mrs. Polk is survived by her husband, Jimmy Polk of Mendenhall: her daughter, Pamela Sue Polk of Brandon, MS; her son, David Polk (Cristy) of Gatesville, TX; and two grandchildren, Makaylee Mueller and Dalton Polk both of Gatesville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clarence Jolly, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or an account has been set up at Regions Bank in Prentiss, MS.
