Joy Hurst Barton

Graveside services were held Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Bethany Cemetery for Ms. Joy Hurst Barton, age 52, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on January 20, 2012 at her residence. Interment immediately followed services. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Ken Roberts, Rev. Paul Roberts and Dr. Joey Faulk officiated. Pall bearers were William Bass, Jack Ward, Jimmy Kerley, Lynn Hurst Sr., Lynn Hurst Jr., Jacob Williams and Todd Roberts. Ms. Joy Hurst Barton was born in Jackson, MS on April 24, 1959. She was the daughter of Garland Pete Hurst and Gladys Roberts Leto. She was a graduate of Prentiss Christian School and Jackson School of Cosmetology. She also attended Belhaven University and Co-Lin Junior College. She was a hair stylist for a number of years and later worked as a Sales Representative for Arnold’s Beauty Supply. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Ms. Barton is survived by her son, Jimmy Barton (Heather) of Monticello; her mother, Gladys Leto of Prentiss; and three grandchildren, Tristan, Drake and Isabel Barton.
