James G. Stringer, Jr.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for James G. Stringer, Jr., age 76, of Monterey, LA, who died at his residence on December 10, 2011. Bro. Charles Burnham officiated. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Stringer served in the Army National Guard and retired with 25 years. He also worked offshore in the oil field business for many years. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. James Gilmore Stringer, Jr. was born on July 13, 1935 in Mobile, AL and was the son of James G. Stringer, Sr. and Gladys Raines Stringer. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Stringer of Monterey, LA; two sons – Ken Stringer of Prentiss, MS and Dale Stringer of Aberdeen, Scotland; one step-son – Zane Emfinger of Woodville, MS; two sisters – Winnie Blanton of New Hebron, MS and Betty Horning of Prentiss, MS; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one brother, and one sister. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.
