Junior Ward

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Junior Ward, age 57, of Carson, MS who passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital. Interment followed at Dublin Cemetery. Bro. Freddie Mills officiated. Pallbearers were Danny Gentry, Tommy Brumfield, Danny Spiers, Charles Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, and Ben Kitchens; Honorary Bearers were Jack Dixon, Brian Speights, and James Fuller. Lafate Ward, Jr, better known as Junior, was born in Jefferson Davis County, MS on October 4, 1954. He was the son of Lafate Ward, Sr. and Helen Ray Bayles Ward. He worked as an Offshore Crain Operator for many years. He was a farmer and a member of Dublin Baptist Church. Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Lisa Ward of Carson, MS; two daughters, Tiffany Dyess of Oak Grove and Molly Ann Ward of Carson, MS; one granddaughter, Hanna Dyess, and one sister, Sara Melko of Herndon, VA.
