Mattie J. Speights

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Ms. Mattie J. Speights, age 96, of Brookhaven, MS formerly of Prentiss, who passed away on October 30, 2011. Interment followed at Hepzibah Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Elder Donnie Nettles officiated. Pall bearers were Johnny Jordan, Bobby Jordan, Pete Ward, Tony Kirkley, Brandon Kirkley, Alex Kirkley and Patrick Kirkley. A native of Lawrence County, Mattie J. Speights was born on March 28, 1915. She was the daughter of William Byron Speights and Alberta Cameron Speights. She worked as a seamstress with Reliance for many years. She was a member of the Prentiss congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ms. Mattie Speights is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
