Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Prentiss Presbyterian Church in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Mildred Lee Livingston, age 100, of Amory, MS, who passed away Sunday October 30, 2011 at Oak Tree Plantation in Amory, MS. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Dr. French W. Tripp officiated. Pall bearers were Jesse Smith, Gary Hess, Ian Ruppieko, Michael Bowman, Ricky Ford and Gregg Kennedy. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Mildred Lee Livingston was born August 8, 1911 in Jefferson Davis County, MS to Sam and Katie Lee. She was a native of Prentiss and had lived in Amory, MS for several years. She was a graduate of Belhaven College in Jackson, MS. She taught school in Prentiss, MS, Agricola, MS and Mobile, AL. In 1945, she and her husband, Egbert Livingston, returned to Prentiss and bought and operated Palace Drug Store. Mrs. Livingston was a member of Prentiss Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was an active member of the Women of the Church Organization. She was also a charter member of the Sororis Club. Her entire life’s focus was on her relationship with the Lord and her family. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Linda Poe (Glenn) of Amory, MS and Madeleine Garner (James) of Chattanooga, TN; her sister, Helen Burnett of Jackson her brothers-in-law Dr. Tom Braddock of West Point and Mark Campbell of California; her grandchildren, Amy Bowman (Michael) of Shreveport, LA, Melinda Ford (Ricky) of Smithville, MS, Susan Kennedy (Gregg) of Smithville, MS, Pam Smith (Jesse) of Barbourville, KY, Jill Hess (Gary) of Atlanta, GA, Julie Ruppieko (Ian) of Atlanta, GA and Will Garner of Chattanooga, TN; great grandchildren, Chellie, Forrest-Anne and Molly Bowman, Thomas Kennedy (Bonny), Kara Burks (Colby) and Ben Kennedy, Katie and Mary Smith, Watson, Haley and Thomas James Hess. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Egbert Livingston, her sisters, Vivian Braddock of West Point and Katherine Downing of Laurel.
