Funeral services were held Friday, October 28, 2011 at Bassfield Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Shirley Ann Broome, age 66, of Bassfield, MS who passed away on October 24, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS. Interment followed at Graves Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Charles Reid, Jeff Johnson, Dale Broome, Avery Broome, Bobby Green and Tommy Lees. Honorary pall bearers were Pat Daley, Jeff Stewart and Tommy Hill. Born in Covington County, Shirley Ann Broome was born on May 13, 1945. She was the daughter of Barney Coleman and Florence Mooney Coleman. She was a school bus driver for twenty eight years with Jefferson Davis County Schools. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Harlon Broome Sr. of Bassfield; her son, Harlon Broome Jr. of Bassfield; her daughters, Teresa Dyess and Kimberly Walker both of Bassfield; her grandchildren, Brittney, Ryan and Kyla Walker, all of Bassfield and a sister, Robbie Rogers of Slidell, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law, Minnie Broome, two aunts, Lizzie Graves and Annie Ward and a sister-in-law, Judy Broome.
