Joe Griffith

Funeral services were held Monday, October 24, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Joe Griffith, age 82, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on October 22, 2011 at his residence. Interment followed at Bassfield Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tommy Broom and Rev. L. C. Anthony officiated. Pall bearers were Lowry Saulters, Melvin Hollingsworth, Kevin Saulters, Frank Creel, Wayne Bass, Casey Edwards and Casey Padgett. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Joe Ben Griffith was born on February 26, 1929. He was the son of Luther Griffith and Johnnie Thompson Griffith. He worked for Prentiss Butane Gas as a route salesman for more than twenty five years. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sue Griffith of Prentiss; three daughters, Brenda Saulters (Lowry) of Bassfield, Ann Hollingsworth (Melvin) of Prentiss, and Karen Creel (Frank) of Sumrall; five grandchildren, Kevin Saulters, Kathryn Bass, Brooke Edwards, Kyla Padgett and Samantha Creel and two great-grandchildren, Mary Ella Bass and Jackson Edwards.
