Kenneth Ray Hathorn

Funeral services were held Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Kenneth Ray Hathorn, age 60, of Bassfield MS who passed away on October 6, 2011. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery in Bassfield, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Deacon Bob Everard officiated. Pall bearers were John Daley, Grant Hathorn, Kevin McRaney, Garrett Jackson, Chris Hathorn and Zach Carr. Kenneth Ray Hathorn was born in Jefferson Davis County, MS on March 2, 1951. He was the son of Willie A. Hathorn Sr. and Lucy V. Hanegan Hathorn. He played football at Bassfield High School and Pearl River Community College. He was an avid fan of Bassfield High School football. He worked as a painter and was self-employed. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Peters Catholic Church. He is survived by his children, Kyle Hathorn of Bassfield, MS and Heather Jones of Hattiesburg, MS; five grandchildren; seven sisters, Ann Hathorn of Ellisville, Judy Carr of Flowood, Susan Hathorn of Hattiesburg, Denise Dyess of Sumrall, Martha Daley, Beverly Jackson and Glenda McRaney all of Bassfield; four brothers, Willie Hathorn Jr. of Petal, Wayne Hathorn of Prentiss, Jeff Hathorn and Richard Hathorn both of Bassfield. He was preceded in death by his parents.
