Carrie D. Morris

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Carrie “Easy Baby” Morris, age 63, of Sumrall, MS who passed away on September 21, 2011 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Interment followed at Bethel Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tony Bagley officiated. Pall bearers were Sean Morris, Michael Smith, Dale Broome, Mack Daughdrill, Jeff Bradford and Billy Morris. Honorary pall bearers were Don Bradford, Marshall Dyess Jr., Justin Dyess, Greg Daughdrill, Dennis Daley and Michael McRaney. A native of Mississippi, Carrie Louise Morris was born on October 30, 1947. She was the daughter of Wilbur Dyess and Ruth Pearl Pierce Dyess. She worked in the Cafeteria at Bassfield for fifteen years. She later became a home caregiver to the sick. She was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband, Billy Morris of Sumrall, MS; a daughter, April Smith of Carson, MS; a son, Sean Morris of Seminary, MS; a granddaughter; three brothers, W. J. Dyess and James “Buck” Dyess both of Carson, MS and Marshall “Doc” Dyess of Columbia, MS; and three sisters, Ernestene Daughdrill of Carson, MS, Clara Mae Bradford of Florence, MS and Doris McRaney of Collins, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
