Tressie King Smith

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Tressie King Smith, age 97, formerly of Prentiss, MS, who passed away on September 19, 2011 at Comfort Care Nursing Center in Laurel, MS. Interment followed at the King Family Cemetery in Bassfield, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Ken Hickman officiated for services. Pall bearers were Jim Atkinson, Jim Sisson, Dean Deville, Jacob Deville and Tommy Gatwood. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Tressie King Smith was born on January 23, 1914. She was the daughter of Daniel L. King and Lora Davis King. She worked as a Sales Clerk in a clothing store for several years. She attended New Chapel United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by her son, Daniel J. Smith of Clinton, MS; her daughters, Gloria Boutwell of Prentiss, MS and Jean Gray of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
