Francis Marie Smith

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Whitesand Baptist Church for Mrs. Frances Smith, age 83, who passed away on September 17, 2011 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Rev. Charles Burnham and Mr. Mitchell Roberts officiated. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Wesley Daughdrill, Sonny Langston, Tommy Breland, George Hayman, Bobby Shivers and Ed Smith. Frances Marie Smith was born December 18, 1927 in New Hebron, MS. She was the daughter of Ben Buckley and Missie Dixon Buckley. She was the co-owner and operator, along with her late husband, Willard Smith, of Willard Smith Grocery for 26 years. She was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Smith Bridges and husband Joe of Prentiss; one son, David Smith and wife, Pam of Cabot, Arkansas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
