Karen L. McDevitt

A funeral mass was held Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Ms. Karen McDevitt, age 56, of Bassfield, MS who passed away August 9, 2011 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Father Peter Varghese and Deacon Bob Everard officiated. Pall bearers were Hal Speights, R. L. Edler, Kevin Burns, David McDevitt, Eric Shexnayder, Bobby Wambolt and Jimmy Kerley. Karen Lynn McDevitt was born on December 16, 1954 in New Orleans, LA. She was the daughter of Charles O. McDevitt and Lurena Stringer McDevitt. She worked as a legal secretary in New Orleans with Liskow & Lewis for many years. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Ms. McDevitt is survived by her sister, Shelia Edler (Robert) of Prentiss, MS; her niece, Bertie McDevitt of Bassfield, MS and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Bassfield, Memphis and Chicago.
