Florine Bridges

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Florine Bridges, age 97, who passed away August 4, 2011 at her residence in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles Burnham officiated. Pall bearers were Steve Bridges, Bradley Bridges, Randy Garner, James Bridges, Mitchell Bridges, Wayne Bridges, Adam Bridges and Jason Bridges. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Florine Faye Bridges was born on July 7, 1914. She was the daughter of Denson Deavers and Fannie Morris Deavers. She was a Nurses Aid at the hospital for many years. She was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church, the WMU and led the Girls Auxiliary for many years. Mrs. Bridges is survived by two sons, Curtis W. Bridges, Jr and Gerald Bridges both of Prentiss, MS; one daughter, Mary Nell Garner of Hattiesburg, MS; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Lee of Pinola, MS; and two brothers, Denson Deavers of Topeka, MS and George Deavers of Tylertown, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Curtis W. Bridges, Sr., two sisters and a brother.
