Willard Ray Speights

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Willard Speights, age 83, of Prentiss, MS who passed away July 26, 2011 at JDCH Extended Care Facility in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Greens Creek Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles Lee Loftin officiated. Pall bearers were Eddie Speights, Wayne Speights, George Sutton, Tom Kuhr, Ricky Barrett and Mitchell Smith. Honorary pall bearers were DeLeon Lott and Jerry Barrett. Mr. Willard Ray Speights was born in Carson, MS on October 23, 1927. He was the son of Carroll Speights and Virgie Watts Speights. He served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. He was a farmer and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Speights is survived by a son, Kendall Speights of Hattiesburg, MS; three grandsons, Eddie, Wayne and John Paul Speights; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Dalmar Speights of Goss, MS, Conrad Speights of Prentiss, MS and Landell Speights of Harrison, AR; and two sisters, Clarece Sutton of St. Paul, MN and Edith Kuhr of Santa Maria, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bobbie Dyess Speights, and a son, Jerry Wayne Speights.
