Annie Ruth Barnes

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Whitesand Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Annie Ruth Barnes, age 80, of Spring Hill, FL who passed away July 22, 2011. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles Burnham and Rev. Robert Barnes officiated. Pall bearers were Robert Barnes, Tom Williams, Tim Williams, Noah Barnes and Billy Bridges. Annie Ruth was born and raised in the Whitesand community of Prentiss, MS with her surviving sister, Faye Nell (Polk) Williams. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Barnes, and her parents, Frank and Madeline (Wigington) Polk, also of the Whitesand community. Annie Ruth was strongly rooted to her community. Besides dropping everything to serve anyone in need, she worked on the farm, served as a custodian with her husband at Whitesand Baptist Church, and was a loving mother to her son, Rev. Robert Frank Barnes. She lived with Robert and his wife, Kim, and her two grandchildren, Bethany and Noah, in Florida for 10 years, until the time of her death.
