Julius Linker, Jr.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Santee Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Julius Linker Jr., age 68, of Prentiss, MS who passed away July 18, 2011 at his residence in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Santee Baptist Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tony Bagley officiated. Pall bearers were Shannon Lewis, Dennis Head, Reggie Myers, Charles Buckley, Emel Michael and David Williams. A native of Mississippi, Julius Belton Linker, Jr. was born on February 27, 1943. He was the son of Julius B. Linker Sr. and Annie McMellon Linker. Mr. Linker served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for Diamond Offshore for twenty five years before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion in Jackson, MS and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Linker is survived by his wife, Charlotte Daley Linker of Prentiss, MS; a step son, James Garner of New Orleans, LA; a step daughter, Tracy Smith of Pensacola, FL; and two step sisters, Melody Ward and Gloria Newell both of Hattiesburg, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
