Funeral services were held Friday, July 8, 2011 at Whitesand Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Wayne Polk, age 63, of Prentiss, MS who passed away July 4, 2011 in Baton Rouge, LA. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Billy Bridges officiated. Pall bearers were Jeff Bass, Clint Langley, Russell Coulter, Ronald Jones, Robert Watson and Ken Stringer. Honorary pall bearers were Billy Langley and Dale Watson. A native of Mississippi, Clifford Wayne Polk was born on March 14, 1947. He was the son of Curtis W. Polk and Elam Coulter Polk. He owned and operated his own Trucking Company for more than twenty years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Polk is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Polk of Prentiss; two daughters, Melissa Buse of Hattiesburg, MS and Sharon Garner of Perkinston, MS; a son, James Polk of Hattiesburg, MS; a step-daughter, Donna Carney of Walker, LA; a step-son, John Weiss of Denham Springs, LA; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters, Paulette Langley of Prentiss, MS, Diane Hatton of Bassfield, MS and Brenda Watson of New Hebron, MS; a half-sister, Barbara Bass of Petal, MS and a half-brother, Curtis Polk of Desert Palm, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
