Scottie L. Smith

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Scottie Smith, age 66, who passed away June 12, 2011 at UMC in Jackson, MS. Interment followed at Greens Creek Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss is in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tony Bagley and Rev. Julius Davis officiated. Pallbearers were Jamie Luzenberg, Kirk Raynes, Rex Raynes, Billy Wayne Jackson, Wade Evans, Doug Baker and Kevin Myers. Scottie Lavon Smith was born on October 7, 1944 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. He was the son of Clifton Smith and Cordia Anderson Smith. He worked for many years in the Oilfield and the Trucking Industry. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Smith of Prentiss, MS; two daughters, Sheila Byrd of Brandon, MS and Julia “Winkle” Luzenberg of Saucier, MS; seven grandchildren and a sister, Mae Haddox of Carson, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
