Dorris Nell Creel

Funeral services were held Monday, June 13, 2011 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Dorris Creel, age 79, who passed away at her residence in Carson, MS on June 8, 2011. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Services of Prentiss handled arrangements. Rev. Carroll Rippy and Rev. Scott Ross officiated. Pallbearers were Tim Johnson, Casey Padgett, Robert Turnage, Larry Blackman, Ricky Polk and Gary Turner. Dorris Nell Creel, affectionally known as Dot, was born in Bolivar Co. MS on July 8, 1931. She was the daughter of Dale Polk and Lillie Mobley Polk. She worked as a cashier for the Fosters at Jitney Jungle Grocery Store in Prentiss for 17 years. She was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Creel is survived by one daughter, Dyanne Creel Turnage; two sons, Frank Creel of Sumrall, MS and Tommy Creel of Brandon, MS; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnny Creel, and two brothers.
