Ray McInnis

Funeral services were held Friday, May 27, 2011 at Phalti Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Archie Ray McInnis, age 84, who passed away May 25, 2011 at Magee General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Interment followed at Phalti Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Carroll Rippy officiated. Pall bearers were Larry McInnis, John McInnis, Jack Magee, Carl “Bo” Griffith, Tim Hall, Tom Hall, Darrell Welch and George Griffith. A native of Mississippi, Archie Ray McInnis was born in the Clem community of Jefferson Davis County on September 16, 1926. He was the son of John Roland McInnis and Mabel Parish McInnis. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked with MDOT for 17 years and with Jefferson Davis County for 12 years. Mr. McInnis was also a member of Phalti Baptist Church. Mr. McInnis is survived by his wife, Irma Butler McInnis of Prentiss, MS and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence McInnis and John R. McInnis, Jr. and four sisters, Dixie Magee, Jean Booth, Katheryn Rippy and Mary Griffith.
