James "Jimmy" Stephens

A funeral mass was held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. James E. “Jimmy” Stephens, age 61, who passed away May 14, 2011 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Father Peter Varghese officiated. Pall bearers were Pete Stephens, Kevin Burns, Darrel Cooley, James Earl Stephens, Drew Stephens and Shawn Allen. Honorary pall bearer was Greg Raynes. James E. “Jimmy” Stephens was born on September 16, 1949. A native of Jefferson Davis County, he was the son of Joseph Glen Stephens and Natalie Fagan Stephens. He worked in the oilfield and as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Mr. Stephens is survived two brothers, Thomas Earl Stephens of Carson and Pete Stephens of Bassfield; three sisters, Rebecca White of Prentiss, Linda Allday and Jeannell Allday both of Carson; caregiver and niece, Dawn Raynes and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
