Funeral services were held Friday, May 6, 2011 at Bassfield Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Gladys M. Bell, age 91, who passed away May 4, 2011 at JDCH Extended Care Facility in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Bassfield Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Kenneth Roberts and Rev. Charles Lee Loftin officiated. Pall bearers were Lee Hurst, Michael Daley, Jake Daley, James Boleware, Tommy Bass and Darrell Broome. Gladys Mae Broome Bell was born on December 31, 1919 in Sumrall, MS. She was the daughter of Anderson Broome and Lola Hatten Broome. She worked with the US Post Office in Bassfield as a Postal Clerk for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Bassfield Baptist Church. Mrs. Bell is survived by two daughters, Sherry Morris and Dianne Boleware both of Bassfield, MS; one son, Hal Bell of Jackson, MS; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, H. D. Broome of Bassfield, MS and a sister, Doris Thompson of Prentiss, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Condee Bell, two sisters and a grandson.
