Funeral services were held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Joey R. Bridges, age 50, of New Hebron, MS, passed away March 30, 2011 from a motorcycle accident in Simpson County. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Rev. Michael Giles and Rev. Charles Burnham officiated. Pall bearers were Scotty Buckley, Buddy Buckley, Junior Walker, Joey May, Terry Newsom, Perry Sorey, Glen Davis and Darrell Chavis. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. A native of Mississippi, Joey Roland Bridges was born in Jackson, MS on December 26, 1960. He was the son of Glenn Bridges and Tommie Jean Bridges. He worked offshore with the Platform Exploration team of Sonat Drilling before retiring. Joey was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Joey’s love of the outdoors, led him to start his own company, Red Neck Fishing Lures, more than 19 years ago. He was also a Mason and a member of Old Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Bridges is survived by his wife, Debra Bridges of New Hebron; sons, Thomas Bridges and Carter Bridges both of New Hebron; a stepdaughter, Cassandra Narlock of New Hebron; a step son, Sgt. Cory Narlock of Austin, TX; his mother, Tommie Jean Bridges, a brother, Jerry Bridges and a sister, Bonnie Bridges all of New Hebron, MS. He was preceded in death by his father.
