Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Maudie Mae Guy, age 89, of Lucedale, MS, who died March 27, 2011 at Glen Oaks Nursing Center in Lucedale. Interment followed at Coy Cemetery in Neshoba County, MS. Rev. D. R. Buckley officiated. Pallbearers were Tom Herrington, Dale Herrington, Dwayne Herrington, Jim Herrington, Randy Herrington, and Reggie Widdon. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of arrangements. Maudie Mae Guy was born July 22, 1921 to Allen A. Herrington and Valley Ellzey Herrington. She was a Homemaker and a member of Prentiss Apostolic Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. She is survived by three step-daughters: Ann Davis of Prentiss, MS, Shirel James of Eupora, MS and Faye Stewart of Mathison, MS; six step-sons: Elroy Guy Jr., of Grand Bay, AL, Glenn Guy of Lucedale, MS, Wayne Guy and Denson Guy, both of Prentiss, MS, David Guy of Hurley, MS, and Keith Guy of Meridian, MS; One sister, Jane Westgate, and two brothers: Leroy Herrington of Grand Bay, AL and Dewey Herrington of Lucedale, MS. and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, four brothers, and two husbands: Jim Quinn and Elroy Guy.
