Louise "Lou" Mikell

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Prentiss Baptist Church for Mrs. Louise “Lou” Mikell, age 86, of Foley, AL formerly of Prentiss, MS, who passed away March 14, 2011. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Rev. Ben James officiated. Pall bearers were Gary Graves, Randy Stamps, Dennis Stamps, Clay Stamps, Billy Parish and Demery Grubbbs. The daughter of Rufus A. Graves and Clementine Shoemaker Graves, Louise Graves Mikell was born on November 12, 1924 in Philadelphia, MS. Mrs. Mikell was an Insurance Agent with Mutual of Omaha for twenty years and had also worked for The Medical Center in Prentiss. She was an avid Bridge Club Player and a member of the Twentieth Century Club of Prentiss. She was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church. Mrs. Mikell is survived by her daughters, Melanie Mikell Martin of Orange Beach, AL and Melissa Mikell Adcox of Tuscaloosa, AL; a son, Dr. Lawrence J. “Pete” Graves of Gulfport, MS; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James “Shorty” Mikell and her siblings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Youth-Reach Gulf Coast, P O Box 357, Summerdale, AL 36580.
