Dave F. King

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Shalom Baptist Church in Silver Creek, MS for Mr. Dave F. King, age 89, of Silver Creek who passed away March 6, 2011 at his residence. Interment followed at Cliburn Cemetery. Rev. Ray Hodges and Rev. Duane Bradford officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Service of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Pall bearers were Andrew Aultman, Chris Barnett, Tony Davis, John Brooks, Rocky Sanders and Anthony King. Dave Franklin King was born on December 21, 1921 in Simpson County, MS. He was the son of Benjamin Franklin King and Lucille Keen King. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. He worked for thirty years with Lawrence County Beat 4 as an Equipment Operator before retiring. He was a Charter Member of Shalom Baptist Church. Mr. King is survived by his son, George King (Pat) of New Hebron, MS; his daughter, Chloe Barnett (Roy) of Jayess, MS; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Maggie Miley of Bogalusa, LA and Christine Chandler (Harold) of Vancleave, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Hilda Sills King and Peggie Webb King, a daughter, Alice Ruth Hodges, a sister and one grandchild.
